I found myself humming this song…the melody caught my ear and the voice – hypnotic…but it had me really thinking it was something it’s not. I watched the video only to be confused at the scene of it all. Have you see it? Has the tune caught your ear?
“Take Me To Church”

Hozier – Take Me To Church [link]
Quite catchy…huh?
What’s sad about this song is that it’s as offensive as Marilyn Manson….for an example. But, no one notices how evil it is. Young people are curious about sex! These lyrics trade faith as a sexual license to worship sex. Mocking Christians and their faith has become the norm! Satan wants people to love the flesh and hate the spirit.

In an interview with New York Magazine in March 2014, the artist Hozier states:
‘Take Me to Church’ is essentially about sex, but it’s a tongue-in-cheek attack at organizations that would… undermine humanity by successfully teaching shame about sexual orientation — that it is sinful, or that it offends God… But it’s not an attack on faith… it’s an assertion of self, reclaiming humanity back for something that is the most natural and worthwhile.
Irish songwriter Hozier released the video for his gospel-inspired epic, “Take Me to Church,” a cavernous song that uses love and ecstasy as a religious metaphor. This lyrics expressed his frustration with organized religion — and particularly the Catholic Church’s history of mistreating gays and covering up child sexual abuse. He wrote it in an effort to raise awareness and support for gay marriage following Russia’s criminalization of homosexuality.
Hozier — born Andrew Hozier-Byrne…believes man’s struggle is to find his own identity in an oppressive culture of church, in an age influenced heavily by the Catholic church and a nationalism that he just wants to be free of. Ironically, he believes the song is NOT an attack on faith…seriously? Hozier has been labelled an atheist by the press, but he says that’s not the case.
Quote: “We love the sinner, but we hate the sin.” It’s a backhanded way of telling someone to be ashamed of who they are and what they do.

He sang with Anúna which is an Irish choral group. In 1987 Dublin composer Michael McGlynn founded An Uaithne, a name which describes the three ancient types of Celtic music, Suantraí (lullaby), Geantraí (happy song) and Goltraí (lament).

In June 2012 Anúna released their new album Illumination, a fifteen track CD and in May featured on the soundtrack to the video game Diablo III. Blizzard Entertainment’s audio director, Russell Brower says “Working somewhat against conventional expectations, Hell is a beautiful and seductive sound, provided by Dublin’s uniquely astounding choral group ANÚNA”.

Frankly, I will let you decide what you think, but I believe these kinds of issues are brought forward to shape young minds. Our youth are vulnerable and music can influence their beliefs. If you ask a person who is ‘rethinking’ their sexual status and future of their relationships, you will most likely find either abuse or some event which has tainted their beliefs.
Now, the lyrics to this song is really strange…
My lover’s got humour
She’s the giggle at a funeral
Knows everybody’s disapproval
I should’ve worshipped her sooner

If the heavens ever did speak
She’s the last true mouthpiece
Every Sunday’s getting more bleak
A fresh poison each week

“We were born sick,” you heard them say it

My church offers no absolutes
She tells me, “Worship in the bedroom.”
The only heaven I’ll be sent to
Is when I’m alone with you

I was born sick
But I love it
Command me to be well
Aaay. Amen. Amen. Amen.

Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life

If I’m a pagan of the good times
My lover’s the sunlight
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice

Drain the whole sea
Get something shiny
Something meaty for the main course
That’s a fine-looking high horse
What you got in the stable?
We’ve a lot of starving faithful

That looks tasty
That looks plenty
This is hungry work

Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife
Offer me my deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life

No Masters or Kings
When the Ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin

In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean
Ooh oh. Amen. Amen. Amen.

Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
END

sex-before-marriage
I believe GOD intended marriage to be a holy union between man and woman. And whenever sexual acts take place outside of this marriage, it involves pain and conflict…ultimately. This is a poison which society is now swimming/living in. Damaged marriages contain people who would cheat rather than repair what is damaged. “Sex” does not actually require commitment, and this is why so many young people don’t mature into loving relationships (lasting marriages), but once you’ve had sex with someone…what people don’t realize is that there is a bond, a tie…a union. These ties (when abused) can become a portal for demonic spirits to enter.

HOLDING-HANDS

The lyrics to this song is a true testament of social dysfunction, ….how the elite are guiding our youth into paths of sin.

stats
There is no doubt that religion is tainted by man. GOD did not intend on man having organized religions…but to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as The Only Path to HIM!

  1. Agree- purity may not come naturally to our human nature but it what God requires. “only the pure in heart will see God”.

  2. Kittii says:

The first new episode of ‘Viewfinder’ is titled “Uniquely Nasty: The U.S. Government’s War on Gays” which investigates gay rights in the U.S. as told through the eyes of Charles Francis, the former leader of a group of gay Republicans known as the Austin 12.

  3. Kittii says:

Charlene Cothran – former gay activist and publisher of Venus Magazine, (a magazine for black lesbians), shares her testimony of being a leader in the world of gay publishing and how Jesus Christ set her free from the bondage and the deception of homosexual confusion.

How about 50 Shades Of Gray. This is not just porn turned mainstream. This is mainstream bondage and beatings porn that came to a theater near you, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The audience sat hypnotized as the virginal and innocent young woman was raped, humiliated, whipped and beaten black and blue. Oh well…what the hell.

  5. Adilyn L Smith says:

    lyrics are almost correct…
but here’s what it really says:

    My Lover’s not human,
she’s the giggle at a funeral.
    Cause everybody’s dissapproval.
    I should’ve worshiped her sooner.

If the heavens ever did speak,
    she’s the last true mouthpiece.
    Every Sunday’s getting more bleak,
    fresh poison each week.

    We were born sick,
    you heard them say it.
    My church offers no absolition,
tells me “worship in the bedroom…
the only heaven I’ll be sent to,
Is when I’m alone with you”

    I was born sick,
    but I love it.
    command me to be well.
    aaay-Amen. amen. amen.

    Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lights. (mental note: reference to the candles at an altar?)
I’ll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife.
    I believe that deathless death
oh good god, let me give you my life.

    repeat

If I’m a pagan, I’m the good type.
    My lover’s in sunlight.
Keep the goddess on my side.
    She demands a sacrifice.
    Drain the horsey…
    get some’in shiny…
Something meaty for the main course…
that’s a fine lookin’ high horse.
What you got in the steeple?
Leave a lot of starving faithful…

    That looks tasty,
    That looks plenty,
    This is Hungry World.

    Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lights.
I’ll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife.
    I believe that deathless death
oh good god, let me give you my life.

    Repeat

No masters or kings when the ritual begins,
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin.
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene.
    Only then I am human.
    Only then I am free.
    ooh, ohh. aaaymen… aaayymen… ayymen…

    Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lights.
I’ll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife.
    I believe that deathless death
oh good god, let me give you my life.

    Repeat.

Take it as you will… to me, this is a great song in which a gay man won’t stand for the disrespect and discrimination that people at his church (no specification on which one, I’m assuming to keep their dignity as a church) are putting him and his life partner through… He says he does go to church… “fresh poison each week”… so he goes to try to be closer to god but his church is preventing him from doing so by saying that he’s doomed to go to hell already… I’m sorry but if any of your priests or pastors told you something that you couldn’t change about you… let’s say, hypothetically, your natural-born hair color… was going to send you to hell for whatever reason he makes up… you wouldn’t be able to sit there in church and concentrate enough to have a spiritual experience in that church anymore. He also says that his church is telling him that his only heaven will be here on earth… I’m sure that if your priest/pastor told you there was nothing to live for in the afterlife, you’d probably go looking for something to live for in this life as well… because the love he felt for his partner was what he’d die for to protect… “no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin”. Hopefully, you’d be willing to die for your husband or wife, if you had to to protect them… if not than that’s a sad earthly scene to me…

anyways, take it as you will but that’s how I see the musical lyrics.

    • I understand your point. Hate the sin, love the sinner, right? Marriage is sacred. Although I don’t use my words, nor my physical strength to bash them as a person…there are those that do.
HERE”S THE GRAND DECEPTION: let’s make Christians be the target! This is a hidden agenda here. Satan works in degrees, in small degrees so the world willingly follows him.

*Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
The world is twisting the Light! Just as The Good Book (Bible) said it would.

*But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
A person who commits to homosexual acts is done so by THEIR OWN DECISION. Not by fate, birth, etc. It may very well be applied to the Scribes and Pharisees in Christ’s time, who preferred the evil traditions..Lot also dealt with kind of issue when two (fallen) angels decided they wanted to “KNOW” the men in Lot’s home, rather than “KNOW” the daughter of Lot. GOD gives us insight into these issues and THEIR ORIGINS.

*Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent– the LORD detests them both.
This is happening on a GRAND SCALE. You see it everywhere.

Oh by the way….the road is narrow. Why? Because man CHOOSES to sin. Let a man be ever so high, death will bring him low; ever so mean, death will bring him lower. They confound and overthrow distinctions between good and evil. They prefer their own reasonings to than to Divine revelations.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. different interpretation of the saying is wrongdoings or evil actions are often masked by good intentions, or even that good intentions, when acted upon, may have unforeseen bad consequences.
THE CONSEQUENCES? HELL. Your soul will parish. I’m not saying this, Jesus Christ did. And look what they did to Him.
