This word is a rare word. And the meaning was used as a greeting, of sorts. The people of the early church gathered and would welcome others with the expression of this word. But, on the other hand it was also used for the departure.
But, I’ve also read that people would use it as a gesture in passing…such as passing one another on the street as a way to signal to the other user that they were a Believer. Yet, if the other person did not respond with the same then the person using the word knew that the other was not a Believer.

The reason:
The early Christians knew there was only One GOD! But the Roman Emperor, Caesar made it law to only call on him as god and lord. But, all-in-all the Christians in good conscience could not do this, so the Roman looked upon them as traitors, and persecuted them by putting them to death.
And so, living under such harsh conditions, the Believers moral was lifted speaking this word. In fact, they felt so oppressed by the times that they changed their usual greeting of ‘Shalom” which meant peace, to Maranatha.

The followers then and now know there will be NO PEACE until HIS ultimate return. In fact, there have been religious wars since the day Jesus Christ died!
This words derives from the Aramaic which is the language Jesus Christ spoke in His days on this Earth.
This words exact meaning stood for, “O LORD, come!”

We are constantly reminded and being reminded of the impending manifestation of GOD in the flesh…Jesus Christ. But this time, He will be on the Spirit.
The utilization of such a word in today’s world would mean, “The LORD cometh”. Which also suggests to execute judgement upon the ones who do not love GOD.

This leads to the exact Scripture connected to this word:
1 Corinthians 16: (KJV)
22. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

Anathema is in front of Maranatha, what is this?
Since the time of the apostles, the term ‘anathema’ has come to mean a form of extreme religious sanction, known as excommunication.
But, it seems the word “anathema” was also meant to describe vehement disagreement with or dislike of something.
This totally makes sense when you read the Bible verse. Cursed really makes sense in this instance:

But, this is interesting in relation to the mysteries of the Bible! According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, Hermon means “Forbidden Place.” Jerome (4th-century translator of the Latin Vulgate Bible) interpreted Hermon as “anathema.” Mount Hermon was the port of entry for a group of wicked angels, who corrupted the human race in the days of Noah. This is where the fallen angels first touched down!

A warning to non-believers. If you don’t believe in Jesus Christ then you may very well be cursed to GOD. But, HE is the ultimate Judge and only HE can decide your fate. All we can do is try to convince the unbeliever of Jesus Christ and the Salvation and Grace that HE offers.
So, I humbly ask you to take Jesus Christ into your life, into your heart and ask HIM for forgiveness and allow HIM to change your life and the destiny of your immortality.

MARANATHA-This is a spiritually uplifting word!
For we dwell on material things while living on this earth, and this is to be in constant tormoil. And looking down, we see the earth; and looking all around, we see earthly things. But looking up, we see HOPE of the coming of our dear Lord, Jesus Christ. THE SON OF GOD!
So, to those who are discouraged, “MARANATHA”; to those who are in peril, “MARANATHA”; to those who are filled with anxiety over the things happening in the world today, “MARANATHA”.

So, to you, my friend….I say:

Listen up people….there are many of you who need this:

1 Timothy 4:
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

We’ve all heard this verse, hopefully. But, when Paul was writing to Timothy about this subject, and says, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly…”and some will depart from the faith”…well we need to elaborate on this!
Great emphasis is placed on this first verse. It’s likened to the phrase when Jesus Christ says, “Verily, Verily”…many should pay close attention.
You see, this chapter is not talking about the obvious. If a man walks into a church and says, “Im a Satanist, or I’m an atheist…or agnostic…this will of course alert those in the church to their intentions. But, if a Believer (A Christian) comes saying, “I have a ‘new’ or ‘better’ or ‘more Biblical way of looking at things”, this is all together different. It’s dangerous.

I was recently on a social media and saw a posed question about drinking alcohol. I answered it revealing that the original name of alcohol was ‘spirits’. And for good reason. And that the wine which Jesus Christ admittedly drank was no where near the degree of strength and intensity which our current society consume. But, everything is to be taken in moderation.
Well, I was challenged by my answer. This is the exact reason which I rarely get into discussions/debates. For one reason, I firmly believe that we live in a time when the spiritual war is intensifying exponentally…and to waste time ‘arguing’ with a Believer is senseless because it takes our energy which should be utilized against the supernatural rather than the natural. Secondly, it seems that people, especially Believers are drawing themselves into arguments about frivolous issues.
I will explain.

Verse 2, says, “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”…this reminds me of cattle. Cattle thieves were once a huge issue, especially in Texas…but it seems to be making a huge comeback with the price of beef. And to define one’s ownership of the animal, the branding of it was essential. In doing so, it seems extremely abusive but necessary. At first the animal fiercely fights against the process and then it actually seems to calm itself. The burning of the nerves allows for some relief in that the animal cannot feel it as intensely.
Is this likened to the ‘searing’ of conscience? Does the individual have no ‘sense’ of the sin? Are they not only blind to the issue but don’t even sense the sin they commit? Is that what Paul speaks of?
One becomes self-righteous when their behavior becomes hypocritical. It’s said to be the failure to follow one’s own expressed moral rules and principles. Is the grass greener on the surface but underneath, dead?
The next verse speaks of forbidding in marriage and food. Food? What in the world? Let’s reverse our steps back to chapter 3, and we learn of a code of conduct…if you will. And the overall feeling I get from it is piety. Humilty is something we must all demonstrate on a daily basis.

How many religions come forth and tell you, you can’t eat meat? Or you cant get married? What are they doing? They’re practicing false doctrine.
An example is this: Science can send man to the moon but cant even figure out how to take crime out of your neighborhood. What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Well, think about it.
You can take the legalism of morals, integrity and all those things which humanity views as righteous but without GOD, it means nothing. Food cannot make you holy. Marriage cannot make you holy.
Teaching a prostitute how to dress won’t change her behavior. It wont give her one ounce of power. but teach them the love of The Gospel and you change their world.
If we spend our fighting about the logistics, we lose valuable time which could be spent teaching THE GOSPEL.

The Gospel is The Word. The Word of GOD. Jesus Christ is unfathomable. NOTHING comes close. A church discussing the minor issues instead of the major is one in trouble.
Scriptures is the Doctrine. It gives us direction, no doubt. The perfect example is the Book of Proverbs. But, we’re not to be distracted because the core, the foundation is Jesus Christ.
We all have different views, and experiences which gives us those views but looking from the outside in….what makes a Believer (Christian)? Love. Compassion. Mercy.
Where do we receive those? Jesus Christ, who is The Gospel. The Word.
The mere fact that He died for us should be the catalyst.
So, when you see Believer’s acting this way….vere the other way. Steer clear. For this, my friend is doctrine of devils.

Listen UP!

Let’s throw a high five to GOD! You see these lists all over the internet but I wanted to share some thoughts about it. There are many ways to learn to love deeply, to cherish, to admire, to consume one’s life in total, unconditional love. But…true unconditional love is something only GOD can give…but we can try to be like Jesus Christ.

Listen without interrupting
Proverbs 18:24
“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”
I remember the traditional saying, “GOD gave us two ears to hear, and one mouth to speak, and this is why we should listen more than we speak.”
Great advice. Not only will it keep you from looking like a fool because we mostly speak before we think, but it’s a great tool to learn. A person who earnestly desires to learn will learn to separate himself from the world.
We can learn a person’s intentions by their actions, more than mere words.

Speak without accusing
James 1:19
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:”
So many people use the word ‘you’ in arguments, instead we should learn to use the word “I”. This takes away the defensive mode.
Proverbs 17:1
“Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.”
Many things happen in the world and we ask GOD, why? A parent discovers their child has cancer, and blames GOD when that child dies. It’s easy to do. The flesh cries out in anger and judgment. But, if we humble ourselves before GOD, we will begin to realize that GOD has a Plan and everything has a reason. That child has a purpose in heaven with their Father. And GOD may be using this as a strengthening process for the parents at the same time.
We all have faults. No one is perfect except Jesus Christ. With that being said, it’s so easy to point fingers and blame others.
Matthew 7:3 (KJV)
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Give without sparing
Proverbs 21:26 (KJV)
“He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.”
If we busy our hands with giving, we have less time to be greedy. Money only makes one want more of it, right?
The old saying, “You can’t take anything with you when you die.” IS TRUE.
Matthew 19:24 (KJV)
And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
The “Eye of the Needle” has been claimed to be a gate in Jerusalem, which opened after the main gate was closed at night. A camel could only pass through this smaller gate if it was stooped and had its baggage removed.
When Jesus told the young man in Matthew 19, to sell everything he has…it was hard for him. Why? Because obviously the young man had a large amount of possessions which he treasured. But did he treasure Jesus Christ? Do you? What would you give for Jesus Christ to enter into your life?

Pray without ceasing
Colossians 1:9 (KJV)
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
It doesn’t matter where you are, how your body is positioned nor what your wearing! PRAY! Never abandon prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (KJV)
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
This is very important when placed together. GOD is as amazing! Rejoice evermore…pray without ceasing. Think about it! Spurgeon said it best when he said, “The more praying the more rejoicing.” Amen to that. He also said:
Prayer gives a channel to the pent-up sorrows of the soul, they flow away, and in their stead streams of sacred delight pour into the heart. At the same time the more rejoicing the more praying; when the heart is in a quiet condition, and full of joy in the Lord, then also will it be sure to draw nigh unto the Lord in worship. Holy joy and prayer act and react upon each other.
Enough said.

Answer without arguing
Proverbs 17:1
There are some people in this world who feel they must serve the last word. And then, if that were not enough…they would argue with a wall if they could. Let’s just say, when arguing there are NO WINNERS. How does that happen? Well, think about it…if you win, then the other person loses; you lose the other person wins; or you argue until to agree to disagree. Do you understand….it’s a never ending source of spite. Someone will always walk away feeling disappointed, hurt, angry, frustrated and often feeling alone.
There are many ways to resolve an issue without arguing. Open yourself up to the other person’s point of view. Lay down the ‘verbal guns’ and just listen. Instead of focusing on your reply, instead listen. Then, lastly take out the “I” in your argument. This is less offensive and puts yourself in an equal position.

Share without pretending
Ephesians 4:15
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:”
Being raised in a Christian home, I was always told, “Everyone gets an equal share”. This made sense to me, even though children tend to want the biggest piece of cake, or largest bowl of ice cream. Human nature, right?
But, to truly act a Jesus would want we need to give without expecting anything in return. Instead of wanting a bigger slice of the pie, gives your’s away! But, again human nature.flesh tells us to ask, “what’s mine?”
I recently did an article on “PAY IT FORWARD”…and this came from a STARBUCKS incident where one person paid for the coffee behind them and it continued for hours until one person didn’t understand the concept, or didn’t care and was greedy.
But, you see this reveals that random acts of kindness do exist and are most often spontaneous. Go out and begin another chain reaction!

Enjoy without complaint
Philippians 2:14-15
“Do all things without murmurings and disputings:”
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
My first thought was the internet and then driving. The internet is full of people who love to argue, dispute and disagree. True, there are many things in this world to grumble about. The best way to turn your day into a bad one is act this way. Not only that but these kind of emotions rub off onto others. Next thing you know, others around you are acting the same way.
So, why not turn your frown upside down. We have so much to be thankful for! Avoid those who are counterproductive to your walk with GOD. Do or say something to make that person, who’s obviously having a bad day, to smile.
As a server, I know what it means to work for every dime and penny. In fact there are many people out there that don’t realize that server’s only get paid $2 hr! So, if it weren’t for the generosity of others who pay according to your skill set, then we would starve! When I have worked hard to do everything the customer has asked for, and I return to the table after they have left to find a dollar or two….it’s very discouraging. I usually respond with “really!”…but, I don’t let it get the best of me and I tell GOD…I know You will provide. Next thing I know…I’m smiling and then I move on.
I believe in supernatural provision.

Trust without wavering
1st Corinthians 13:7
“Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
It’s very easy to lose trust in someone. Words hurt, but actions can tear your world apart. This can lead to a chain reaction if your not careful. But GOD, we can always rely on.
Hebrew 10:23
“So, Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering (doubting); for he is faithful that promised;”
We are told to ‘HOLD FAST’ to that expectation WITHOUT wavering (doubting) – no matter how the outward situation may appear. We should remain confident in GOD! No matter what the case is.
It’s easy to waiver under pressure…it’s hard to remain steady. This is when we take out our Bible and read. then, we pray. So, no matter what comes to pass…
If you study creation and pay close attention, you will begin to appreciate the painstaking details that GOD has performed to make sure that creation in not only beautiful but functional.
GOD has told us that it is those who believe WITHOUT wavering that will SEE the promised blessing manifested in their life.

Forgive without punishing
Colossians 3:13
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
Many people don’t believe in GOD, and therefore why would they believe in Satan? Much like the judicial process of this world, GOD has His authority within His kingdom. Thus, there are consequences to your behavior!
As Believer’s we have many offenses in this world and Satan is the first one we should think of! After all, he is called, Father of Lies; Prince of the Air; etc….and he wants nothing more than to bring you down to his level. In doing so, he wants you to seek vengeance upon your enemy.Satan uses people like weapons to try and hurt us.
Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians 10; that though we are in this world, we are not to fight as the world around us. Why? Because the weapons of our warfare are mighty through GOD! We must seek ask GOD to forgive us of our sins and trespasses. This means we have trespassed against someone.
GOD gives us a Code of Conduct. This is the Ten Commandments. We should act accordingly!

Promise without forgetting
Proverbs 13:2
“A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.”
Don’t take your promises lightly! If you say you will do something, then DO IT! Our word traditionally meant something…but what about now?
This is sad but true. There are so many people who break promises…especially to children and these children grown up losing trust in people. I can attest to this. As a child I lost trust in people for many reasons and because of this it’s been a constant battle for me to trust. I held resentment against the one who hurt me. But, as I grew older I realized this is a sin. No one is perfect, except Jesus Christ.
Once you break a promise the people around you begin to lose their respect for you. Integrity means everything. It’s easy to lose trust, it’s hard to gain it back.

Just Me?

Posted: September 6, 2014 in GOD, Jesus Christ

It’s not about just me, or is it. It’s not about just you, or is it.

It all began with GOD. It’s all about GOD.
Man and woman, creatures of this earth, made in GOD’S Image.
So, what’s this blog all about, what’s this site for? It’s certainly not about self-entitlement, or even self-pride. No matter what some may believe.

Marriage is a perfect parallel of GOD and HIS place for us. GOD placed man and woman here, and marriage came next and with this union came another. A child. This is a parallel of GOD, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ.
Miraculously, mankind came through GOD and His infinite wisdom.

A child come from the union of man and woman, but don’t you see…we are a child of GOD.
But, what’s next? Eve’s sin. Cain’s pride…forget the perfect world. But what came between man and GOD?

A supernatural war!
So, essentially it’s not about just you or me…is it? It’s a deeper rabbit hole than that. It takes a dark turn into wickedness. Surrounding this world is a cloud of darkness. But GOD gives us the ability to fight this war, this wicked darkness. But it comes down to just you and me and choices.

Confusing? Not at all.
It’s an apex of evil. It was here then, it’s here now and it’s coming.

Parallel worlds living simultaneously.
It comes down to mercy and judgment—parallels.
