Jesus tells us seven times in the Book of Revelation that we need to hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The tense is present tense, not past tense. I will mention a few but mainly we need to recognize if we have snakes in our church! They come looking like anyone else but they hiss and spit. Trouble follows them. They work secretly to be a detriment to your congregation and work.

Have you ever heard about spirits of religion? They work in ways which most people don’t see, or think of. They keep you busy gossiping, or dozing off during church so you can’t learn new things. The church at Ephesus had every element of church life in order and they were a hard working congregation. Yet the fire, the passion, the love was gone.
The apostle Paul tells us that if we are ignorant of the devices of Satan, he will take advantage of us (2 Cor. 2:11).

What doctrines does your pastor preach/teach?Is it true to The Word?

How many paths to GOD does your church believe in? There is Only One Path….Jesus Christ.

Are your church leaders demanding and controlling? The church at Smyrna endured persecution, and many members suffered martyrdom. With this threat, Satan tries to strike fear in the hearts of believers by sending intimidation to frighten us away from faithfulness to GOD and HIS Word. A war goes on in today’s church, and the battle lines are drawn. One of the most powerful spirits at work in this ongoing battle is the spirit of Jezebel or control. It is astounding that the same strong spirit was still operating in Revelation 2:20 and still operates in today’s church.

What lengths do your church leaders go to to teach spiritual warfare? Unfortunately, the Laodicean church did not really see their true condition. God said they were “wretched, poor, blind, naked”—they were pitiful in the sight of God. They were without riches and spiritually blind in God’s eyes. He looked at them and saw them as they really were: spiritually bankrupt.

Where does your church stand on the gay agenda? GOD made marriage a Holy Union, between a man and woman.

Does your church have a cross in it? Did it take it out?

Is your church dead? Ignores the Holy Spirit. Lack of godly leadership. Reputation over reality. Growth in numbers without growth in people. Ministry and work incomplete.

Does your church continue your membership even if you don’t tithe? Recently a woman was kicked out of her church of 40+ years because she got cancer and didn’t attend for a couple months. In that time she didn’t tithe…so they ‘discontinued’ her membership!

Does your church help the poor? A church’s reach must exceed its grasp.

Does your church help its own congregation if needed? Are your church members in need meanwhile the pastor lives in comfort?

Is money a big topic in your preachers sermon? The Sardis church lived in a favorable environment with a great reputation. However, in Christ’s letter to this church, He ignored their human reputation and told this church they were listed in the obituary! The city of Sardis was a city of wealth. History tells us that in 550 b.c., King Croesus found gold in the city’s river and issued the first gold coins in history!

Do you hear about witchcraft in your church? When they do teach about it, is it inside or outside of your church?

Does your church teach about the end times/prophecy? We live in them. The Bible is 100% prophecy, so it should be.

Does your church idolize the world? Pergamos was the capital city of the province of Asia mentioned in Revelation as one of the seven churches of Asia. The city had a “pet” god in Asklepion, an idol symbolized by a snake who called himself a savior. They believed that their god incarnated into the area snakes, so serpents were allowed to slither freely around the temple. Those who desired healing spent the night in the darkness of the temple, hoping a snake would crawl over them. GOD called this church, the Seat of Satan. Does your church operate more in the physical than spiritual? Secular humanism is a key. A naturalistic philosophy. In fact few churches even speak of the supernatural but only give you sweets rather than the meat and potatoes.
Balak, the pagan king, literally bought the prophet Balaam’s ministry. Balak eventually sent women to seduce the men of Israel, thus bringing judgment upon them. It was Balaam that sold out the people of God. In keeping the spirit of Balaam, too often today, money has become the goal and prize of many in the church. Image has replaced anointing and the church is reduced to no more than a place where pop psychology tickles the ears of its parishioners. The image-makers and the politically correct have dulled the sword of the churches and its men of GOD.

Reject the love of religion and its rules and reputation, and fall in love with Jesus Christ!

Stewardship Tithing

Posted: December 20, 2015 in GOD, Jesus Christ, Love

Stewardship is a call from GOD. It’s about responsibility to HIM, and others. We are to give our gifts that we receive to others. To me, it’s a form of tithing. In the modern world we live in, people give money to a church in which they will never see the benefits. Now, wait a minute before you stand up and pound on the desk, asking “It’s not about what you give”…well…it is.

You see, there are more wolves in the churches than ever before. We live in an age where preachers and pastors live the good life while their parishioners live check to check….day to day. Pastors living in mansions and flying in planes that they call their reaping. They firmly believe that GOD wants them to take people’s money so they can live lavishly.
Jesus Christ never lived lavishly.
We are to think, and act as Jesus Christ would, right?

You see, it’s more than giving money. A person at my job ask me, “So, you don’t believe in tithing?” I said, “Sure”. But I explained HOW that I tithe.
It’s about contributing your time to someone who can clean their home and cleaning their home, and even cooking them a meal…or a few meals and putting them in the freezer for them to thaw and cook later.

GOD has given you unique talents, gifts and abilities. It’s about contributing your talents. Is your talent crafts…and I love doing them too. So, use this talent by giving things to make someone smile who is sick in the hospital.
But, I also told my friend at work that I don’t brag about these things. You do them and keep them between you and GOD!
Building relationships with someone who is shy, or homebound. Time is something that don’t cost a penny but could mean the world to someone.
Can you provide security to someone lives in a part of town with a lot of crime? How about donating your time to rebuild someone’s fence that’s falling down.

It’s about caring for others with no return. It’s about compassion and heart.
It’s not about earning grace from GOD, because we already have that.
Compassion leads you to have mercy, which is like forgiveness. And GOD gives us forgiveness daily. This is our mercy.

The Spirit shows us the way.
Stewardship is a part of that journey.

WARNING: Because you are taking these steps…you will be afflicted.

It bears repeating; you are afflicted. You will be afflicted again, and because you are learning these techniques you will be afflicted in degrees and continue to be on a regular basis until you learn to bind and cast these evil spirits out. And remember that demons will return to tempt, oppress and afflict you again until the day of Judgment. This is a fact. We are at war…

Don’t think just because your not aware of it there’s not a war taking place. We can’t escape it through denial or passivity. The attacks never stop even if you don’t recognize the signs.
We live in THE AGE…the age when the disciples thought they did. We live in the age when all the generations before us thought was THAT TIME. We live in the end days.
The Veil is a separation between us and them. Sin can thin it…and keep doing so until you’re really in big trouble. Also, the end days are here and prophetically, we are told by GOD that the Veil is thinning. What does this mean? Well, it means the shadows are turning into solid forms. What was once a thin wispy shadow in the corner of your eye is now a solid form you can see before you. It can be in someone…that’s how they work. It can take form on its own too…and many of us are able to see spirits. This Veil is thinning to the degree that humanity is taking a pounding like never before.
Evil lurks in places such as politics, religion, science, and many other avenues and we are really beginning to see an increase in these areas. Schools teaching our children about homosexuality, programs on television which are ‘programming’ the next generations to accept evil. There’s no way to avoid it any longer. It’s pervasive in all walks of life. Even possessions are increasing like never before.
I have a friend who is ‘waking up’ to the world and to her spiritual side. And she was attacked recently. Attacked in her sleep. It scared her so badly she called me at 3am! What did I say about 3? And I told her, this is how the dark side works. They know she is starting to wake up and they don’t want her to. She will obviously be a threat to Satan or he wouldn’t send his minions.
But, this is how it works…if you peer into the darkness, it peers back. So, you need to learn how to FIGHT! Offensively, and defensively….

Three Levels
There’s just something about the number three! GOD has the Holy Trinity and Satan can’t stand it. Deliverance consists of about three equal parts: teaching, casting out and counseling.

Oppression-This is the entry level…and it’s where you begin to learn the signs, and significance of warfare tactics. Evil constantly lurks and wants to prevent us from drawing near to GOD. It’s the little lies at first..then once you’re good at them, Satan teaches you to use your tongue to tell big lies. It’s the initial dialogue/connections that begin the path that leads to a trail. once your inoculated you begin to listen to the whispers of the demons to remain in fear, guilt, lust, pride…and this can actually lead to dabbling in the occult. Satan does it with our flesh…emotions, appetites, and desires.

Obsession-Next level…you notice the behaviors which are involved with evil become obsessive. Some people believe that mental issues are the cause of OCD, and other similar problems but I firmly believe that demons are part of the problem…at the core!
(1) character defects wherein a specific area has not been developed properly due to a lack of training or mentoring;

(2) insufficient strength of will; and

(3) decisions made to pursue pride, an appetite, emotion or desire, based on ignorance of the consequences.

Obsessing over an issue alerts demons that you have a weakness! An evil spirit will try to attach itself to that same area of weakness and the problem only increases in intensity.
Discernment is required to distinguish between causes and any spirits that may be operating. It is best to work on causes first through forgiveness, paradigm shifting, value-system upgrades, healing of memories, repentance, the Sacraments, and will strengthening.

Possession-This one is quite controversial! Why? Because there are certain people who don’t believe that a Believer can be possessed. Well, I know that we have three ( 3) parts of a human; mind, body and soul/spirit. And a demon can only ‘possess’ the mind and body in the Believer because The Holy Spirit resides in the soul/spirit. You see, these two are material items, and the soul/spirit is supernatural.
It was once said that excessively sustained violent attacks of the mind on a person was rare, but now this is not the case.
More typically, an individual reaches this level after yielding to several areas of obsessive, sinful behavior. Significant involvement with the occult is a regular stepping-stone. A substantial part of the person’s will has been given over to wrong behavior, and thus, to the influence and control by evil spirits. The individual’s resistance is so weakened he is unable to summon sufficient will to deal with the attacks.
Warfare at this level requires considerable spiritual horsepower — an intervention by someone from the outside with significant spiritual authority.
Evil spirits are smarter and more powerful than are we. That’s why we need Jesus’ authority in spiritual warfare; for our own protection.
When a person has reached this level of involvement, significant changes beyond day-to-day spiritual warfare have occurred. There are roots that support and nourish the obsession that must also be addressed, in addition to the specific relationship with the evil spirit.

It’s true that, using the “gift oriented” model, an individual with sufficient spiritual authority might be successful in delivering someone from an evil spirit. But, unless the roots are also dealt with, the odds of return to the obsession remain high. Some typical roots are:

Unforgiveness — If a person harbors unforgiveness for an offense or trauma related to an insult, rejection, ridicule, gross neglect, sexual or physical abuse, and so on — related spirits of fear, anger, shame, lust, addiction, etc. can use that unforgiveness as a lever that allows them to hang on during the discard process, or return afterwards.

Serious Sin — The knowledge of being right with GOD is a major factor enabling and nurturing the confidence necessary to use Jesus Christ’s authority, and issue a firm deliverance command. Some form of confession and seeking GOD’S forgiveness is helpful: “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”

Repentance — The relationship between the individual and an evil spirit at the level of obsession, is much deeper than in day-to-day warfare. It is not sufficient to have an attitude of off-hand rejection of the spirit. Instead, the individual’s attitude must be one of total, unwavering, even hostile rejection. This more severe attitude is communicated by a firm decision to not only stop obsessive practices, but to initiate countervailing efforts to radically change direction — towards Jesus Christ.

Inner Vow — Occasionally, especially during the early years, a person will suffer such a significant emotional trauma, he makes a formal vow, promise, or pact with himself, to permanently avoid behaviors that would risk such hurts again.

Inner Vows cripple at least a part of an individual’s relationship skills, and cause distortions in other skills. Jesus Christ commands that we be open to the full expression of agápe love without agenda or withholding. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” (Jn 15:12)

Significant Inner Vows can block the healing of memories or a deliverance. The vow must be formally renounced, then broken in the Name of Jesus Christ, with the same determination and repentant attitudes described above. Vows, however, are simply renounced, broken, rendered null and void. There is no need to cast them out or send them somewhere.

Occult Practices — The consequences of occult involvement come in two-parts: a unique relationship with evil, and enticements from occult spirits to nurture that relationship. We like to say an occult relationship is the equivalent of giving Satan permission to back a truckload of evil up to your mind, and dump it in, whenever he wants.

Involvement usually begins with seemingly innocent and harmless contacts, such as: Fortune Telling; the early stages of New Age meditations in Yoga and Transcendental Meditation; or Ouija Board and Table Tipping. Soon, however, we are tempted to go deeper with the promised rewards of special powers and knowledge, mysterious and hidden, available only to the select few who are “in the know”.

All of that is a lie, of course. None of it comes from GOD. Even if some unique experiences happen, they only serve to draw us closer to evil. That is why an occult relationship is an abomination before GOD. Substantial involvement is a serious sin. It is pointless to debate how innocent one may have been in these contacts. They are all deadly. Guilt is not the issue here, infection is.

The occult relationship should be broken — firmly, with nothing held back, in a manner similar to breaking a vow — before dealing with the spirits. The individual must seek forgiveness renounce occult involvement, repent as described above, take authority over the relationship in the Name of Jesus Christ, and break it in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Once the occult relationship is broken, the occult spirits are then delivered out of the person.
When a tree stump is removed, the worker first digs deep around it and cuts as many feeder roots as possible. After the stump has been loosened, a chain is attached and a powerful machine hooked up to pull it out. The taproots (those that go straight down, deep), are exposed as the stump tips over, and cut last, releasing the stump to be dragged away. A similar technique is used to deal with obsession.

We have found it best to handle the forgiveness of others first. This is often a difficult and painful process. But, it is necessary to enable reception of Jesus Christ’s forgiveness for our own mistakes, and clear the way to exercise Jesus Christ’s authority.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Mt 6:14,15)

Next, deal with any serious sin. We have ministered with several priests over the years and can testify to the wonderful blessings of the Sacrament of Penance, whether it’s received before or after personal ministry. At a minimum, go before Jesus Christ, confess your sin, and have a “firm purpose of amendment”.

Then, break any destructive inner vows and all occult relationships. The words used to break an inner vow might go something like this:

Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I have made a vow to never love again, and it has affected my relationships with others. I ask Your forgiveness for making this vow, and my actions in following it. I choose now to cooperate with Your Love for others, in its place. So, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I renounce my vow to never love again in my life. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I break this vow; any hold it has in my life; and I render it torn asunder.

Breaking an occult relationship could go something like this:

Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I have cooperated with occult practices in my life. I ask Your forgiveness for this serious offense against You. I choose now to trust in, and seek, Your Love for me in their place. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I renounce any and all relationships I have with the occult. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I break these relationships, any hold they have in my life, and I render them null and void for all time.

These examples are offered to show how the necessary elements might be put together: confession, forgiveness, repentance, and the exercise of Jesus Christ’s authority in His name. Notice how repentance is not treated alone, as an independent issue — but integrated within the process.

The examples are real, but not a formula to be recited blindly. An individual can make up his own words, as he is lead by Jesus Christ. The effectiveness of the command is not in the precision and efficacy of the content, but rather in the individual’s commitment of will, and inclusion of the necessary elements.

Having dealt with the major “feeder roots”, any evil spirits discerned to be involved with the obsession, are now discarded. It is best to deal with each spirit separately.

There are a few, important changes because obsession is a more serious condition:

Confession and seeking forgiveness from Jesus Christ for cooperating with the evil spirit is added.

The choosing part of repentance is more specifically related to the spirit at hand. For example: one might choose forgiveness in place of anger; respect in place of sexual lust, obedience to Jesus Christ in place of occult, or humility in place of pride. The choices of alternative directions need not be exact opposites in some legalistic sense; just the beginning of a change in direction, substantially away from the relationship.

The ending is stiffened to express more intentional finality in the obsessive relationship’s demise.

The deliverance command is a confrontation between the individual and the evil spirit with whom he has been cooperating. It is a helpful confidence builder, for the individual to place himself in Jesus Christ’s Presence when confronting the spirit. Nevertheless, while it’s Jesus Christ’s authority being used, it’s the individual who must use it.

An example of the deliverance command for a spirit of fear is shown below. Notice how the first part is between the individual and Jesus Christ. In the second part, the individual must turn and directly address the spirit.

Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I have cooperated with fear in my life for a long time. I ask Your forgiveness for that cooperation, and my lack of trust in You.

You spirit of fear in my life, I renounce you and I choose to trust in Jesus Christ’s love for me, in your place. And now, in the Name of Jesus Christ, I take authority over you, fear in my life, and I break any hold you have on me. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I command you to depart from me, to leave me peaceably, and go to where Jesus Christ sends you. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I close the door on you in my life, forever.

If there is some doubt that the spirit has left, the individual can repeat the command, a number of times if necessary. The command directs the spirit to leave peaceably to preclude any histrionics from the spirit. Some people experience a sense of peace, or having a burden lifted. But many others experience nothing.

A long as the individual’s will was firmly engaged in the command, and Jesus Christ’s authority was used in His name, one can be confident the spirit has left, and the relationship is broken. Our trust is in Jesus Christ and His authority, not how we feel.

“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, but he finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and brings with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first…” (Mt 12:43-45)

Once the relationships, the “feeder roots”, and the spirits have been dealt with, it is still necessary for the individual to reinforce his defenses and correct any weaknesses that made him so vulnerable in the first place.

It is recommended that the individual recite the deliverance command every day for a short time following the deliverance process. This does not suggest the original command was ineffective, but rather, helps the individual strengthen his will, and his determination to have nothing more to do with the obsession and its spirits. When a broken bone is mending, muscles degenerate and must be restored through exercise, long after the bone has healed.

Attacks from spirits of fear and doubt may increase for a time, trying to convince the individual that the obsession’s spirits never left, or have come back.

The individual should ask Jesus Christ to heal any memories that contributed to the obsession. In addition, related values must be adjusted, paradigms shifted, and habits broken. These take time and effort, but are necessary to close the door on the obsession permanently.
It bears repeating — no one can ever be so under the influence of evil spirits that they possess him, and that Jesus Christ is unable to free him. The range of Obsession is quite large, running from simple to substantial. Most relationships with evil fall into that category and can be handled as presented earlier.

Nevertheless, it is possible for a person to become so deeply given-over to a relationship with evil, he is unable to summon the will to free himself through the deliverance process defined above. When an individual reaches this very serious level of involvement — unfortunately labeled Possession — significant, spiritual horsepower is required to free him.

An individual can arrive at this point from many different directions.

Factors of involvement that occur regularly, may include: Participation in the occult, committing idolatry, having stubborn and/or blind pride, experiencing a major trauma (mental or physical), using non-Christian meditating, using weak or no discernment, and participation in New Age Energy practices.

Any time an issue is analyzed or discussed, it’s necessary to remove it from its normal context so a proper focus can be achieved without distractions. Then, when the review is completed, the issue is returned to its normal context, so the benefit of any learning can be realized in one’s day-to-day activities, without overwhelming other issues.

In the series I presented called, “CALL TO ARMS”, it explains so many ways to battle the dark side of the supernatural. This is just additional information to help. By the way…there are people out there that want you to believe that we can’t take offensive maneuvers in this battle…all battles have offensive and defensive goals and strategies.
Three is a number which GOD uses over and over to emphasize the miracle of it. It represents THE TRINITY. This is why the dark side also twists it. They will appear during the darkness of the night, covered by it and the time they love is 3am…it’s the opposite time to which Jesus Christ gave His Life for our Salvation.
Three primary weapons of the dark side of the supernatural
1) Deception: To deceive means to have another person believe a lie. When lies are sent, they are darts used to sway your judgment. Strongholds are built on deceptions. A stronghold is formed when deception takes a firm hold on someone’s mind.
2) Temptation: Temptation often follows deception. The lie which Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden that she would not die! This tempted her. She believed the lie, then was tempted to eat of the fruit. This is metaphoric, I believe. Satan wants mankind to believe we can become gods. Also, Jesus Christ was tempted in the desert by Satan. Satan lied to Jesus Christ and tried to convince Him that if He jumped that it would be harmless to Him, but Jesus Christ was and is so much smarter than Satan.
3) Accusations: Satan constantly accuses us before GOD! He also will be the first one to bring up an old scar…pour salt in it and laugh. Meaning…he will remind you of past sins and rub it in your face so you won’t forget, and make you believe that GOD will continue to punish you for it. But, GOD will forgive you if you ask and HE forgets it. But, Satan don’t want you to know that.
What weapon would be use as an offensive tool?
A sword is an offensive weapon and is meant to tear down and kill the enemy’s troops. Strongholds are the devil’s assets in war, and he uses them against us.

We have two different types of weapons. The one type of weapons is used to fight against the enemy with and the other type of weapons is used to protect us from the attacks of the enemy.

Do not live as a one who lives gripped by fear, timidity or insecurity.

Our Tongues

Our tongue is an organ for which we use for speaking with. It is a very dangerous and deadly weapon that we have. We have control over it and how we used it. We must use it wisely and with great caution.

Proverbs 15:4 says,
“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life…”

Proverbs 18:21 says,
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Our tongue is a very powerful weapon that can be used to bring “life or death.” We must really watch what we speak over others and over ourselves. We want to use it to bring death to the enemy and all of his works. On the other hand, we want to use it to bring life to the things that are of the Lord.

Isaiah 41:15 says,
“Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and make the hills as chaff.”

A threshing instrument is a sharp pointed object. Our tongue is an object like that. The Lord said that with this instrument, we would destroy the mountains (obstacles) of the enemy. These mountains of the enemy are: “obstacles, doubt and unbelief.”

Our tongue is also symbolic of: “a sword or knife and a bow to shoot or launch things with.”

Sword or Knife

Psalm 52:2 says,
“Thy tongue … like a sharp razor…”

Psalm 57:4 says,
“…Their tongue a sharp sword.”

In these verses of scripture, we see that our tongue is like a sharp sword or other cutting instrument. A sword is used for fighting with and it is used to inflict injury and even bring death.

A sword is like a knife. In the hands of a skillful doctor, the knife is used to remove things that are dead or unhealthy to us so that way healing can come.

Psalm 64:3 says,
“…Their tongue … bend their bows to shoot their arrows…”

Jeremiah 9:3, 8 says,
“And they bend their tongues like their bow…”
“Their tongue is as an arrow shot out…”

These verses tell us that our tongue is a bow that is used to shoot arrows with. In order for a bow to launch a projectile it is required to have some power and strength in it. Just as the Lord said in His Word there is power in the tongue to do just that.

Brazen Bow

A person that has trained his tongue and watches how he uses it, now has an upgraded weapon. A brazen bow is a learned or trained tongue. It now becomes even more deadly to the enemy.

Job 20:24 says,
“…The bow of steel shall strike him through.”

A bow made out of bronze or steel is more powerful than one that is made from wood. A wooden bow is a tongue that has not been trained.

Isaiah 50:4 says,
“The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary…”

Daniel was telling us that the Lord had given to him a learned tongue. The Lord helped Daniel to understand the importance of controlling and training his tongue. Then he would be able to help others with it.

Our Words – Arrows

Words are things that we don’t have a shortage of. They are a powerful offensive weapon that we have in our spiritual arsenal. They can be used to bind and strike the enemy with.

They can also be used to encourage ourselves and others with. Words can be used to bring death to the enemy and they can be used to bring life to ourselves and others.

Psalm 64:3 says,
“…And bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words.”

We see in that our words are arrows. Our tongue is the bow that is used to shoot these arrows. The words that we speak can bring injury and wounds to the enemy that we are fighting against.

Proverbs 18:8 says,
“The words of a talebearer (whisperer) are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.”

Our words (arrows) go into a person being and they cause injury. The inner most part of the belly is talking about our spirit man. This verse shows us that our words are spiritual weapons which we can use to fight the enemy with in spiritual warfare.

Matthew 12:37 says,
“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

Jesus is telling and showing us that our words are very powerful. So let us be careful and watch the words that we speak.

WARREN 12 20

The Word of Our Testimony

The word of our testimony is a very powerful offensive weapon that we have. If we could really understand this, we would testify to those around us all the time. This is one of our spiritual weapons that the devil has tried to hide from us. This is very dangerous to him.

Revelations 12:11 says,
“And they overcame him…by the word of their testimony…”

When we testify about what the Lord has done for us, we overcome the enemy. What we overcome of the enemy is the “fear, doubt, and unbelief” that he tries to get us with. The enemy doesn’t like it when we share with others about all the things that the Lord has done for us.

Testifying gives glory to the Lord for what He has done. It also creates an atmosphere for the same or similar things to happen as well. For example, when you testify about a healing or miracle that you have received, it creates and brings back that same spiritual atmosphere for other to receive their healing or for them to receive their miracle that they need.

By testifying, it also releases your faith and it builds the faith of the people hearing about it. They will say to themselves “If the Lord did that for him, He will do it for me.” All kinds of things can happen when we share about what He has done for us. Try it sometime and see what the Lord will do.

Here Are Some Things That Happen When We Testify

Gives glory to the Lord
Releases His glory into the earth
Builds our and others faith – Faith level goes up
Changes the spiritual atmosphere around us
Others can receive salvation, healing, and miracles

It also does this:

It breaks the chains of fear, doubt, and unbelief that Satan uses to keep others bound and it keeps them from receiving things from the Lord.

The enemy knows what will happen when we testify, so he tries to stop us by making us afraid to share to others. He tries to tell us that it is no big deal and that it is not worth sharing. But it is a really big deal and it is very important.

So let us share with others about all the things that the Lord has done for us, on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter how small of a thing it is, just share it with someone.

The Blood of Jesus

Revelations 12:11 says,
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb…”

1 John1:7 says,
“…The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth (frees) us from all sin.”

Hebrew 2:14 says,
“…That through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”

1 John 3:8 says,
“…That He (Jesus) might destroy the works of the devil.”

In all these verses of scripture tells us that it is by His precious blood that He has “cleansed us, set us free, and destroyed the devil and all his works.”

Jesus’ blood is a powerful weapon that the devil can’t stand because it has completely destroyed him. Jesus’ blood is all powerful! His blood is not a band-aid that is used to cover something up. It completely wipes out everything that is of the enemy.

It is by the precious blood of Jesus Christ that we overcome the enemy, in Revelations 12:11. Ever since we became His children, His blood is in our DNA.

Sword of the Spirit

Ephesians 6:17 says,
“…And the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”

Hebrews 4:12 says,
“The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword…”

The Word of God is another one of our offensive weapons that is quick and powerful. With His Word we can easily defeat the enemy. The enemy knows that His Word is true and that the Lord always backs up His Word.

When we speak the Word of God from our mouths it is a spiritual sword with which we can defeat the enemy with, over and over again.

The Mighty Name of Jesus

Mark 16:17-18 says,
“…In My Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.”
“They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay their hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Jesus said here in Mark 16:17-18, “…In My Name shall they cast out devils; (in My Name) they shall speak with new tongues. (In My Name)They shall take up serpents; and (in My Name) if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; (in My Name) they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

The Name of Jesus is a very powerful weapon and we have a right to use it as His children. We are to do everything in His Name.

Philippians 2:9-10 says,
“Wherefore God also highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name.”
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”

The enemy has to yield to the Almighty Name of Jesus. There is nothing that can stand up to that Name. Every time the enemy hears that Name, he trembles.

Shouts of Praise, Singing & Worship

2 Chronicles 20:21-22 says,
“And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever.”
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children…and they were smitten.”

Worship and singing praises to the Lord is another weapon that we have and the enemy does not like it. The devil knows that when we sing unto the Lord that it dispels the fear that he fights us with. He also knows that the Lord and all the host of heaven are on our side.

1 Samuel 4:5-7 says,
“And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.”
“And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews?…”
“And the Philistines were afraid…”

Joshua 6:4-5 says,
“And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.”
“And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the rams’ horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the walls of the city shall fall down flat…”

Shouting strikes fear in the heart of the enemy. When the devil hears these sounds, he knows that he is about to be defeated. It is the vibrations of our shouting that breaks the walls of his attack against us. They just crumble and fall down.

We also read in Judges 7:15-23, how Gideon’s army blew their trumpets and shouted “The sword of the Lord and of Gideon.” The enemy’s armies were afraid and confused, and they were destroyed.

The enemy becomes afraid when he hears the Father’s children in worship, singing praises and shouting to the Lord. These sounds terrify the devil and his armies.

The Anointing

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is one of our secret weapons of spiritual warfare. Many of us never understand what the anointing is and what it does.

Isaiah 10:27 says,
“And it shall come to pass in that day (today), that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

The words “in that day” in this verse of scripture the Lord was talking about the day of Jesus’ death, His Resurrection, and Him being seated at the right hand of the Father. That was the day and time until now (that’s today) when the Lord Jesus broke the power of the devil.

The “yoke” is whatever the enemy binds you with or puts on you. It can be sickness, diseases, habits, addictions, fear, depression, poverty, and many other things that are not of the Lord.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit breaks all the chains of bondage and completely destroys it. The anointing in and on your life that you walk in destroys these chains of the enemy, even as you minister to others.

The anointing on your life is for the benefit of the people. It says in Matthew 10:8, “…Freely ye have received, freely give.” You will never be able to give it away quick enough because as you use it, the anointing increases and flows like a river.

Our Light

Our light which is Jesus Christ in us is another weapon for our spiritual warfare against the enemy.

Matthew 5:14 says,
“Ye are the light of the world…”

John 1:4-5 says,
“In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.” (5) “And the light shineth in darkness…”

We are the light of the world and Jesus is that light in us that shines to those around us. We know that light chases the darkness away when we turn on a light. Light reveals the enemy.

Darkness is symbolic of “spiritual blindness or ignorance.” Also in His Word the Lord referred to satan’s kingdom as darkness.
Revelations 16:10 says,
“…and his kingdom is full of darkness.”

Light is symbolic of “Jesus, who is in us and He is that light that radiates through us, also it is revelation. Revelation is something that has been made known to us and we have an understanding of it now.

John 3:20 says,
“For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”

The enemy doesn’t like to have light around because it exposes his plans and lies that he uses against us. He will try to do anything to put the light out.

The Holy Spirit

The precious Holy Spirit helps us (Romans 8:26). He helps us in every area that we will allow Him too. The Holy Spirit reveals and shows us things to come (John 16:13). This even includes the plans of the enemy.

The Holy Spirit gives us the right words to speak (Mark 13:11). The Holy Spirit also empowers us (Acts 1:8). With the power of the Holy Spirit that is in us, on us, and has been given to us, we now can do His work for the Kingdom of God.

Isaiah 59:19 says,
“…When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

The Holy Spirit helps us fight against the enemy. He is always the greatest factor in all that we do for the Lord and He increases the odds in our favor in our fight against the enemy. He is ready and will help us if we ask Him to.

His Promise to Us

Joshua 23:10 says,
“One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, He it is that fighteth for you, as He hath promised you.”

Here in His Word is a wonderful promise from the Lord that He will fight against the enemy for us. We know that He will be always there to help us.

He Fights For His People

In Joshua 23:3 it says,
“…For the Lord your God is He that hath fought for you.”

In Joshua 10:1-42, we have the account of Joshua and the children of Israel facing the armies of five kings. In the natural it didn’t look good but we see how the Lord fought for His people and their enemies were defeated.

Judges 14:19 & 15:14-15 says,
“And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him (Samson), and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them…”
“…The Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him…”
“And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.”

In these verses of scripture, the Holy Spirit came upon Samson and helped him to kill a great number of the enemy. This is not possible in our own strength but with Him all this are possible.

Exodus 33:2 says,
“And I will send an angel before thee, and I will drive out…”

The Lord sent an angel to drive out the enemies of His children that were in the land that He had given to them. This still happens for us today.

2 Kings 19:35 says,
“And it came to pass that night that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand…”

2 Chronicles 32:21 says,
“And the Lord sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains…”

We see in these verses just how powerful and mighty one angel of the Lord is. This one angel slew 185,000 of the Assyrian army in the night. This is what the Lord will do for us in our fight against the enemy with His angels.

Psalm 35:5-6 says,
“Let them (our enemies) be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them.”
“…Let the angel of the Lord persecute them.”

Satan and his army of darkness do not have a chance with the Lord on our side. But he will still try to attack us and try to take us out until the end of time.

The Fire of God

Psalm 97:3 says,
“A fire goeth before him and burneth up his enemies round about.”

The fire of God burns up and destroys the enemy. The enemy has no chance against this awesome and powerful weapon.

Deuteronomy 9:3 says,
“…The Lord thy God is He which goeth before thee; as a consuming fire He shall destroy them (the enemy), and He shall bring them down before thy face: so shalt thou drive them out, and destroy them quickly…”

Habakkuk 3:5 says,
“Before Him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at His feet.”

Before the Lord the works of satan are destroyed. As it says in Hebrews 12:29, our God is a consuming fire. No enemy or thing that is not of Him can stand.

In 2 Kings 1:9-15, we have the account of Elijah and the two bands of fifty men that king Ahaziah sent unto him. The fire of God came down and consumed the men of king Ahaziah that came to get him.

Prayer is powerful and it has awesome range. The enemy hates it when we pray because the Lord gets involved (Matthew 18:20).

Psalm 107:13-14 says,
“Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.”
“He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.”

No matter what the size of the problem is that the enemy uses to attack us with, when we ask the Lord for His help, He breaks the attack of the enemy and saves us.

In Jeremiah 29:12 & 33:3, the Lord tells us that if we call unto Him, He will hear us and He will answer us. We should always ask the Lord for help in everything that we do, that way the enemy never has a chance.

Speaking in Tongues & Praying in the Spirit

Praying in the Spirit and speaking in tongues are two awesome and powerful weapons that we have to use in our fight with the enemy.

The hidden power of speaking in tongues and praying in the Spirit are what allows us to touch the very heart and mind of the Father to move heaven and earth in response to our prayers.

1 Corinthians 14:2 says,
“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth…”

When we speak or pray this way to the Father, only He knows and understands what we are saying. The other thing is that we don’t know what or how we should pray for things as we ought (Romans 8:26).

Ephesians 6:18 says,
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…”

We are told in His Word that we are to pray always and it is important because when we do, many things happen.

Here are some of the things that happens when we pray in the Spirit and when we speak in tongues.

It releases the glory of God into the earth.
It changes the spiritual atmosphere around us.
It is the key to unlocking the power of God that is within us.
It brings us in unity with what the Lord is doing and with heaven.
That is why the Lord said “open thy mouth and I will fill it.” – Psalm 81:10 He will fill it with the living water that is springing up from within us. – John 4:14
It breaks the power of the enemy to keep us quiet when we don’t know what to speak or pray.
It is our secret code of talking to the Father that the enemy cannot understand. So he is confused and doesn’t know what to do, to stop us or try to hinder us.
The Holy Spirit is there with us making intercession to the Father – Romans 8:26-27
We keep the commandment of the Lord – 1 Corinthians 14:15, 37
We build up ourselves – 1 Corinthians 14:4
We convey the wondrous acts of God – Acts 2:11b
We build up and increase our faith – Jude 20
We are offering up a perfect prayer to the Lord – Romans 8:16-17
We pray for things that is beyond our knowledge and comprehension – Romans 8:26
It causes us to line up our spirit with the Holy Spirit – Romans 8:16-17
Is a holy instrument given by the Lord for rest and refreshing to all believers – Isaiah 28:11-12
It causes our inner man to be strengthened – Ephesians 3:16
It is a sign to the world that we know Him – Mark 16:17; 1 Corinthians 14:22
We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, that the Holy Spirit will reveal – 1 Corinthians 2:7; 14:2

The enemy doesn’t want us or like it when we speak in tongues and pray in the Spirit, because he knows what all happens and how dangerous it is to him. He would like to keep this hidden from us.

Paul had a revelation from the Lord and knew the importance of speaking in tongues and praying in the Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:18).

In order for two or more people to do something together, there has to be an agreeing on which means that there is unity. The enemy knows this is a powerful weapon that we have and does not want us to use it.

Deuteronomy 32:30 says,
“…One chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight…”

Ecclesiastes 4:9, 12 says,
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”
“And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him…”

Matthew 18:19-20 says,
“Again, I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in heaven.”
“For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Do we truly comprehend the magnitude of what is offered to us? Other than the Lord Himself, no power or principality in either the natural or the spiritual can match the power of His people when they are united in corporate prayer.

Corporate prayer is one of the greatest weapons in our spiritual arsenal that we have. The Lord is there with us and in agreement with us. This is why the things that we ask the Father for in Jesus’ Name “shall” happen.

The Holy Spirit brings harmony (unity) when we are agreeing and coming together. The devil literally shakes in his boots!

We see what happens in Acts 12:1-17, when the believers prayed for Peter in jail. An angel from the Lord set Peter free from the enemy. This was an answer and the result to their corporate prayer.

The enemy cannot stand against the assault of the God’s people praying with one accord in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Faith is a tremendous weapon that we have. Our faith in Him and in what He said breaks off the chains of doubt and unbelief of the enemy that he uses to attack us with.

Hebrew 11:1 says,
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is spiritual substance which we use to walk out and to do something with in the natural. Faith is like our muscles that we use in the natural but it is spiritual. The more we use our faith the stronger and bigger it grows.

Hebrews 11:33-35 says,
“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.”
“Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiantly in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens (enemies).”
“Women received their dead raised to life again…”

In these verses of scripture, we see how the children of God in times past have defeated their enemies with their faith. Much can be accomplished with a little faith. This is still true for us believers today.

1 John 5:4 says,
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

It is by our faith which the Lord has given to us that we overcome and have the victory over the enemy. We really don’t comprehend and understand how much power there really is in our faith.

Here are some things that faith does.

It opens doors, of the impossible – Mark 9:23
Faith is the connector to the power of God for seeing things happen in the natural
It is the key to unlocking the power of God that is within us
It can move mountains and obstacles that the enemy puts in front of us – Matthew 17:20; Mark 11:22-23
Defeats the doubt and unbelief that the enemy fights us with – Ephesians 6:16
We receive the promises of God by it – Hebrews 11:33
Healings and miracles happen by it – Matthew 17:18-20; 21:21-22; Mark 9:23; 11:23-24

All of these things are a result of us using our faith and taking action. The enemy hates it when we act upon God’s Word in faith and we do something because he knows that he will be defeated. He knows the power of faith and what it will do.

Forgiving is another weapon that we have in our arsenal. It is very important that we forgive others because it affects not only us but others as well. The enemy uses the actions and words (arrows) of others around us, to try to hurt and wound us.

Satan knows that if he can hurt us with an action or word that there will always be a reaction to it. The reaction that comes from us will depend on whether or not we have our armor on and if we are being like Jesus. If we are walking according to His Word in our lives the reaction will be the opposite of what the enemy wanted from us.

To forgive means: to release, let go. When we forgive others, it releases them.

Romans 12:17, 19-21 says,
“Recompense to no man evil for evil…”
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
“Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him a drink: for in doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Two wrongs don’t make a right! The Lord is the One who will bring justice in every situation if we do as He has told us. By us forgiving, we defeat the enemy’s plan that he tries so often to get us with. It backfires on him.

Matthew 6:14-15 says,
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
“But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly Father forgive your trespasses.”

We must forgive others of their wrong doings that they have done to us, if we are to be forgiven of our Father for the things that we have done. This is very important to us because of the results that it brings.

Romans 12:14 says,
“Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.”

1 Peter 3:9 says,
“Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.”

In our forgiving others, we are also to bless them that have attacked us with their words or actions. We are to do the opposite of what the enemy uses to attack us with, to reverse it.

Blessings others that have cursed or attacked us with words changes the results of what was intended. Those arrows (words) don’t penetrate our armor and wound us.

Luke 23:34 says,
“Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do…”

Jesus forgave the people that brought harm to Him and asked the Father to forgive them as well. They didn’t know and even realize that the enemy was using them to do his work. The enemy uses people all the time and many of them don’t even know it. We are to see the source of were it is coming from and realize that those people are being used.

As our precious Lord did for His accusers, let us do the same unto others.

Here are three reasons why we are to forgive and bless those that persecute us.

(1) The Lord commanded us to do it in accordance with His Word.
(2) We will be forgiven of our wrongs.
(3) We will also receive a blessing back.

The results of us forgiving and bless others is tremendous. The people we forgive and bless benefit from it but we benefit even more.

Charity means love. Love is a powerful weapon and we should use it and walk in it all the time. In loving others, we are a reflection of Jesus Christ.

Song of Solomon 8:6-7 says,
“…For love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.”
“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it…”

We see how powerful love is in these verses. It is so strong that nothing from the enemy can stop or contain it.

1 John 4:18 says,
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment…”

Fear is from the enemy. Fear is a powerful weapon that satan uses against us. He uses it to keep us from doing anything. Satan wants to bind us with fear; that way we are afraid to step out and do what the Lord wants us to do.

Our love for the Lord and obeying His Word, breaks and destroys the fear that the enemy attacks us with.

Leviticus 19:18 says,
“Thou shalt not avenge, not bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.”

We see and know from this verse that the enemy wants us to get revenge and hold grudges. This is a trap that will bring us pain and opens the door for more attacks from the enemy.

Luke 6:27-28, 35 says,
‘But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.”
“Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.”
“But love ye your enemies, and do good…your reward shall be great…”

The Lord tells us to love and bless those that come at us and to do right things to them. In doing this we show them the love of Christ. It also reverses the end results that the enemy doesn’t want or like. Matthew 5:44-45 is also another passage of scripture that refers to the same thing.

1 Corinthians 16:14 says,

“Let all your things be done with charity (love).”

Here are six reasons why we are to love others.

(1) The Lord commanded us to do it in His Word – Matthew 23:37-40; Mark 12:29-31

(2) Perfect love casteth (driveth) out fear – 1 John 4:18

(3) By it all men will know that you are Jesus’ disciples – John 13:34-35

(4) Love is important because God is love – 1 John 4:7-12

(5) Without love, we are nothing – 1 Corinthians 13:2

(6) Love shall cover a multitude of sins – 1 Peter 4:8
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Jeremiah 51:20-21, 23 says,
“Thou art My battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms.”
“And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider.”
“…And with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.”

We are the battle axe of the Lord, to be used by Him to destroy the enemy.

It is time to fight with all that the Lord has given to us!
