Before we address the fact that Satan is alive and well, we must focus on HOW he works. He works on GOD’S Church.

A building is a building, there’s nothing special about it until the people enter.

Where two or more gather scripture

Us as the church

Since the beginning of time, war has been waged against GOD and all those who believe in Him. Satan has made every allowable attempt to rid the world of believers and those who profess GOD as their one true Lord and Savior. Satan’s conquest to seek out believers forces us to consider that the battle is no figment of our imagination; it exists, and if it exists, then God exists.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
“…Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat.” Luke 22:31

The spiritual battle is alive and active today like never before. Sadly, many believers don’t realize the battle is real. If truth be told, we have allowed the enemy strongholds in our lives and don’t even recognize it. For example, we worry more about the latest culture trends, what church programs we have, and how we can impress others, than we do about fighting the enemy. We choose menial activities over spending time with GOD. We spend hours on end watching television/computer, but we don’t give GOD the time of day. One of Satan’s biggest attacks is bringing comfort and complacency into the church, which causes people to ignore Satan, rather than battle against him.  The more the church is silenced, the more room he has to thrive and today he is reeking havoc in the church like never before!
Satan doesn’t focus his attacks on non-believers, no he focuses them on those who are the ‘problem,’ that is, us believers. So whether or not you are ready, as a believer, you are on his hit list. This is why Satan has been intensifying his attacks on the church, a church, might I add, that has been withdrawing from the battle lines.
I know firsthand that Satan is sending his agents into congregations to pray against the church. These agents infiltrate the church and pray for demons to be loosed on the congregation and the specifically the pastor. This is why we see so many pastors are committing heinous sins today. Because the church is not awake to the spiritual battle and most of the time don’t even realize there is a battle taking place.
So how do we fight a spiritual battle? For starters we don’t fight with swords, we fight with power from on high…
“We are human, but we don’t wage war with human plans and methods. We use GOD’S mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil’s strongholds…” 2 Cor. 10:4

One of the most important weapons we have in our arsenal is the Word of GOD. From it we learn, we teach, we are encouraged, we are corrected, and through it we can remind Satan of his eventual doom. It’s our lifeline, it’s our love letter, from our Lord.

The second weapon we have in our arsenal is the armor of GOD. In Ephesians 6:11 it tells us to,

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

Each day pray to wrap yourself in His armor. Stand in truth, peace, faith, and be assured of your salvation.

The third weapon is prayer. Through prayer we can fight any unseen battle. I have heard stories of x-Satan Worshipers claiming they couldn’t get through to certain areas to curse them because Christians were standing on the corner praying. There is power in prayer! This is exactly why our GOD says it’s a weapon to battle with. Prayer is a force to be reckoned with. Because through it, we contact the Living King! Not only that but it scares Satan like crazy! Let’s make Satan’s hairs stand up on the back of his head, and pray.

The fourth weapon is fasting. It allows us to discipline our body and mind, like a warrior in training.
Finally, the last weapon we have in our arsenal is the church. Fellowship is of utmost importance when it comes to spiritually battles. We need other believers to come along side us. Each of us are gifted in different ways and we can help each other. We can be lifted when we fall, or given aid, when needed. We can pray in a group, which is even strong then single prayer. We can hold each other accountable and fight the enemy arm in arm. Please don’t discount the effectiveness of fellowship. This is why Jesus had 12 disciples, not 1. He knew they would hold each other up. Don’t fail to recognize the power in fellowship.

    Hello Virginia
I am so blessed to have found your site. I have 2 questions for you, if I may:
1). I have been a member of the Lutheran church (Missouri synod) all of my life. Is there any reason I should not be attending this church? If so, do you have any recommendations?
2). I have no family/ friends that accept that we are in the end times and the evil that is upon us. It makes reality more difficult to bear. I often feel depressed and it is difficult to to find work, or much of anything else meaningful, when we are in such a state of spiritual warfare.

    • Lynn, I suggest you take a look at my other site which exposes the truth of what’s going on. It would take me a month of Sundays..(no pun intended) to explain it all. As for myself, I do not attend any church nor do I ascribe to any religion due to the fact that it’s all man made. It boils down to having a relationship with Jesus Christ who is The Only Path to GOD. With that being said….I totally understand your issues because GOD’S children are all experiencing the same sort of things, of more or less degrees.

        Virginia,
Your response means so much to me. Thank you for all you do. I have been absorbed in your site, since I was recently directed to it. I am waiting for God’s directive in how I may best serve him. Blessings to you!

      • Oh, my! Those words are so soothing to my heart and soul. This is my goal…to bring people to GOD and have them serve HIM! Amen! May GOD Bless you…
