The Long Way

Sometimes it feels as if we’re alone in our decision making processes. We feel utterly alone in a world full of people. How does that happen? Other times, we feel like we have prayed and gotten no answer, only to be left in a dark cloud of resentment and anger because we feel like GOD isn’t listening.
Have you felt like this? Well, I think we all have.

Let’s look at some rather famous people from the Bible!
Joseph and Moses
Moses was a man who was after GOD’S Heart. He did everything within his power and might to do what GOD wanted but there were times when he felt like his life wasn’t what it was suppose to be. Not what GOD intended for it to be. Moses was taken to the Nile River and place into a basket! Can you imagine? His parents trusted GOD implicitly. This was divine providence.
Moses– the child of a Hebrew slave– was found and adopted by an Egyptian princess, the daughter of the Pharaoh himself. He was reared in the royal court as a prince of the Egyptians.
Joseph–spent his early years as his father’s beloved son, but his brothers handed him over to foreigners and they took him to Egypt.
Is this a parallel that we should be interested in? YES! Egypt is prominent in our history of religion. The reasons are too many to place here but suffice it to say that the secret religions/cults came from there after Nimrod initiated their origin.

Moses and Joseph spent many years in obscurity and there came a time when they both married.
There had to be times when they both felt that GOD had forsaken them. This seems to me as they were both types of Christ. By no means am I giving this example as a replacement but an example of how GOD always comes through, and especially for His Son, Jesus Christ.
My example reveals this:
Moses and Joseph are two typological portraits which find unity in the perfect work of GOD! They were both chosen by GOD to liberate the children of GOD, and fulfilled the responsibilities of GOD.

I was recently asked how can we know what GOD has intended for our lives, what gifts do we have that can be utilized for GOD…
We are given many types of gifts…gifts which we are to use for GOD.
I revealed a personal story to a coworker recently;
When I was young I became interested in writing. I thought, “How cool would it be to write?” So, I began writing short stories…and sci-fi seemed to be my choice at the time. I was also very interested in art. Drawing quickly became a passion for me. I loved it!
But, I grew older and stopped writing. I continued to draw and as got older I began to work in different mediums. Soon, there were very few mediums which which I hadn’t dove into.
But, try as I may…I could never make a living from it.
So, I chose careers which had no passion for me.
Then, when GOD called me to this work…I had accumulated hundreds of pieces of work. HE told me…THESE GIFTS ARE NOT YOURS! They are mine!!
My heart sank. I felt so selfish. I realized that GOD had given me these talents for HIM!
It took me several years before I realized THIS WAS IT! This was the reason GOD called me at such a young age with those exact interests!

Here I sit, writing to you. Using my gifts which I mentioned but GOD has added to them!
So, here you sit…reading this
Do you know what the long way is about?
It’s about realizing there are no short cuts in life. WE are here for GOD.
1. Word of wisdom
2. Word of knowledge
3. Faith
4. Gift of healing
5. Working of miracles
6. Prophecy
7. Discernment of spirits
And these are but a few!

GOD sees these gifts as HE sees best, and not for what we think they are for.
1 Corinthians 12:
12 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

GOD says:
Isaiah 45:
22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
Joel 2:
12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

The key is we must LET HIM guide us.

The kingdom of darkness is where men are slaves to sin, serving Satan and the world—rather than GOD!
